| Elizabeth's formal training at St Martin's School of
Art in London took her a long way from the farm in
Northamptonshire.
But this childhood amongst the landscape
and flora in the heart of the country has played an
important role in her work. After studying illustration and
painting in London and later textiles at Teachers' Training
College in Brighton, Elizabeth combined teaching with
freelance work in England and later in Holland.
Illustration work for books and magazines gave way to more
painting commissions and exhibitions. Her teaching career
involved working with students to 'A' level in all
disciplines of art, as well as running art courses in the
local community for all ages and abilities.
She specialises
in watercolour, placing a strong emphasis on drawing as a
basis to all work. |
